Bluegrass Basics

Singer-songwriters Roberta and Gary Gordon are a veritable Smithsonian collection of American music.

Playing uncluttered versions of music spanning styles like bluegrass and contemporary country and gospel, the Gordons have been bringing their music to appreciative audiences across globe for more than three decades. Reviewing one of the seven albums the Gordons have released so far, Bluegrass Unlimited magazine called the Gordon's "straight dealing, no frills bluegrass" a hallmark of "simplicity and honesty."

Whether singing a cappella or accompanied by guitar, fiddle and autoharp, the Gordons put heartfelt sincerity into their simple songs about simple times.
