Plucky Twins

The Katona Twins have been playing guitar together since they were kids, garnering the respect of international audiences. Although they're identical, their talent and style is one of a kind.

From the concert halls of Europe to...Moline. Thanks to the Quad City Arts' Visiting Artist Series, residents of western Illinois had a chance to hear Hungarian-born classical guitarists, the Katona Twins.

In the winter of 2002, Peter and Zoltan Katona – who have performed in famous venues the world over – had a chance to bring their music to fresh ears. Though they're accustomed to playing in concert halls and fancy festivals, the pair showed that they still haven't forgotten the joy and passion for music that motivated them to take up the guitar at the age of 10. Playing in local schools and for senior citizens all over the Quad Cities, the duo soothed and educated.
