Words of Wisdom

From the hoofprints of winged Pegasus the source of poetic inspiration is said to flow. That may just be an ancient Greek myth, but in Chicago another Pegasus is still helping creativity pour out.

Since it was established in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood in 1978, the Pegasus Players have gone where few other companies dare to go. The Players regularly put on off-beat and challenging plays that address sensitive issues of race, politics and discrimination.

Pegasus also reaches out to young and old populations that theatres often overlook. Perhaps its biggest success has come from bringing works by students to the stage every year in the Young Playwrights Festival.

Tap into the minds of the four winners of the 2002 festival, and share with them the creativity and challenges of transporting their thoughts onto the stage.
