Our Work

WTTW is the PBS member station in Chicago, committed to creating and presenting unique media content across distinct television and digital channels – WTTW, WTTW Prime, WTTW Create, WTTW World, WTTW PBS Kids 24/7, wttw.com and the PBS/WTTW video app. Recognized for award-winning journalism and local productions – WTTW News/Chicago Tonight, Chicago Stories, Black Voices, Latino Voices, FIRSTHAND, Chicago by ‘L’, Urban Nature, Foodphiles, Prehistoric Road Trip and Nature Cat – WTTW presents the very best in public affairs, arts and culture, nature and science, history and documentary, and children’s public media content.

Our Mission

WTTW is committed to producing and presenting trusted, best-in-class content fueled by a distinctly Chicago sensibility. We engage our audiences by entertaining, inspiring, educating, and reflecting a diversity of perspectives.

With our sister station classical music radio WFMT, WTTW creates opportunities for exploration and discovery of our city and the world; our approach is fresh and forward-looking; everything we do is rooted in a Chicago sensibility; and our content, work and staff reflect and include the rich cultural diversity of our region.

Each year, WTTW employees are offered a series of professional development, skill building, and inclusion training workshops to ignite behavior shifts and advance an outcomes-driven culture rooted in the organization’s values of curiosity, commitment, trust, respect, excellence, diversity and fun.

Employee Resource Groups

WTTW’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Employee Resource Group connects with people from across the organization with activities, resources and discussion opportunities designed to deepen cross-cultural understanding. This active group is led by a cross-functional team, and works to develop leaders; foster an inclusive workplace; and support our goal of attracting, developing and retaining a diverse workforce while creating a culture where differences are celebrated.
