WTTW, one of the Midwest’s premier public media organizations, announced today that Capri Sun, the maker of Capri Sun Organic, a line of wholesome, organic juice drinks, is providing major funding for PBS Kids’ newest animated series NATURE CAT, a co-production of Spiffy Pictures and WTTW Chicago.
NATURE CAT, which airs throughout the United States and several times daily on WTTW11 in Chicago, is designed to inspire viewers to imagine, discover, and create through outdoor play. NATURE CAT follows Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. In each episode, once his family leaves for the day, Fred transforms into Nature Cat, “backyard explorer extraordinaire.” With the help of his animal friends, he embarks on action-packed adventures full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments, and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and “play the show.”
The series, inspired by research on the health and educational benefits of spending time outside, is voiced by an all-star lineup of comedic actors including Saturday Night Live stars Taran Killam, Kate McKinnon, Bobby Moynihan, and Kenan Thompson. The show also features the voice of Kate Micucci (The Big Bang Theory, Scrubs).
