In partnership with the Union League Club Authors Group, WTTW|WFMT invites its members to a special luncheon featuring acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns. Burns will speak about and present a preview clip of The Dust Bowl, which will premiere on WTTW in November.
The documentary explores the human desperation and drama of the 1930s when the farmers destroyed the land in pursuit of prosperity, and in turn the earth devastated the hopes and lives of many. It is an historic narrative with a modern lesson: the environment is not simply a backdrop for human existence, but a living and working organism that sustains all spectrums of life. Join us for an exciting and thought-provoking afternoon exploring the events that shape our world.
The presentation includes lunch and books will be available for purchase.
Register for the event with your credit card by Wednesday, October 31. Valet and self parking are available. Business attire is required.
