WTTW, in partnership with the Department of Cultural affairs and Special Events and the Center for Black Diaspora at De Paul University, presents a FREE Indie Lens Pop-up screening and discussion of the documentary film, The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution.  A new revolutionary culture emerged in the turbulent 1960’s, and the Black Panther Party was at the vanguard. Weaving together a treasure trove of rare footage with the voices of a diverse group of people who were there, Stanley Nelson tells the vibrant story of a pivotal movement that feels timely all over again.  Immediately following the screening there will be a panel discussion with questions and comments from the audience.
