WTTW, in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events presents a FREE screening and Discussion of A Legacy of Hope. Tom Finks grew up in the world of elite athletics—given that his famous father, Jim, was a renowned NFL player, coach, and GM of the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and New Orleans Saints. So why did Tom join Latino community leaders Robert Torres and Angel Lopez in founding a beginner’s touch football bowl? How did the three create a cross-cultural, interstate contest with no funding and even less help? A Legacy of Hope shows what people with little in common can achieve when they join together in a common concern: protecting children from the lure of gangs.
