This September, the newest Ken Burns and Lynn Novick documentary series premieres on PBS: an expansive look at the Vietnam War in ten parts. Sunday, May 28 at 8:30 pm, a half-hour preview of the series airs, featuring filmmaker interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and clips from the series. Explore WTTW's Vietnam War website.

In 1984, WTTW's Callaway Magazine devoted a roundtable discussion to the war and its effect on veterans. Four actors from Steppenwolf Theatre, including Gary Sinise and Terry Kinney,  gathered with a group of veterans after a performance by Steppenwolf of the war play Tracers to share their thoughts. "If you go through war, it's going to be with you the rest of your life," one veteran says.
