Continue watching Wild Alaska Live on Wednesday, July 25, at 8:00 pm and on Sunday, July 30, at 7:00 pm. Stream the first episode free.

Last Sunday, PBS, in partnership with the BBC, began its exploration of the stunning Alaskan wilderness with Wild Alaska Live. Every summer, millions of salmon migrate up Alaskan rivers from the ocean to spawn, allowing their predators a bountiful feast that sustains life in the wilderness. Orcas, brown bears, wolves, and eagles all depend on the salmon for food – and PBS is there to capture them live. Catch some sneak peeks and clips from the first episode, as traffic stops to allow a black bear and her cubs to cross a highway, humpback whales use bubbles to hunt, some porcupines sabotage the TV crew, and blubbery walruses wallow in a large mass.
