On the season premiere of Finding Your Roots, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and his team of genealogists investigated the family histories of two men who have a lot in common, and even more than they think: the comedian Larry David and the Vermont senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Both are Brooklyn-born, bald-headed men in their seventies with Jewish ancestry and distinctive voices. They've been compared often; David has played Sanders on Saturday Night Live numerous times, and Sanders at one point changed his Twitter picture to a photo of David.
