Deeply Rooted Dance Theater offers work from an African-American tradition of dance and music that is an inspiring and innovative expression of contemporary life.

As the professional dance ensemble of Deeply Rooted Productions – an arts organization dedicated to expressing the African-American aesthetic – the DRDT performs the work of nationally renowned choreographers.

Innovative and poignant, the company's productions mix striking beauty with social commentary. Broaching topics such as the role of religion in war and the struggles of living with HIV/AIDS, DRDT performances aren't shy about confronting the difficulties and triumphs of life.

The company has performed its repertoire internationally in Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France and Canada, as well as many venues locally and throughout the United States.
