Blending ballet with contemporary styles and setting the mix to Latin and Afro-Carribean beats, Chicago's Luna Negra Dance Theater creates dance that expresses and celebrates the rich diversity of Latino cultures today. The company is the only professional dance troupe in the United States that focuses on contemporary dance by Latino choreographers. Working with artists from other disciplines, Luna Negra creates multi-dimensional theatre that is original, moving and, by the look on dancers' faces, fun. The company regularly performs in Chicago as well as touring national and internationally, continuing the exchange of dance traditions among the Americas.
