Centerstage 2008
Arts Across Illinois concludes its eighth season with an annual television special featuring Illinois performers who received grants from the Illinois Arts Council. Performer, writer and Neo-Futurist ensemble member Steve Mosqueda hosts CenterStage from WTTW11's Grainger Studio on Thursday, June 19 at 8:00 pm. Rebroadcast Sunday, June 29 at 4:00 pm.

Barrel of Monkeys is a group of actor-educators providing writing residencies in the Chicago Public Elementary Schools, after which they adapt the stories for the stage. The results get kids excited about writing while also inspiring audiences young and old.

Jazz vocalist and Galesburg resident Semenya McCord has received awards from the City of Boston and, along with renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, received the 1997 "Artist" Commonwealth Award from the Massachusetts Advocates for the Arts, Sciences & Humanities.
