WTTW-TV's host Phil Ponce explores how Illinois artists are inspired by nature in the upcoming episode of Arts Across Illinois on Friday, Nov. 20th at 7:30 pm and Sunday, Nov. 22nd at 4:30 pm. Arts Across Illinois is underwritten by the Illinois Arts Council.

These aren't your grandmother's quilts. Elmhurst textile artist Bonnie Peterson documents her wilderness experiences through rich tapestries that bring the outdoors inside for all to see.


Residents of Decatur were taken on a fantastic journey to the Amazon at the annual International Artist Festival, when the beauty and destruction of the rainforest were detailed in the canvasses of Brazilian painter Totonho.


Sculptor Barbara Cooper finds inspiration in her own backyard. Using scraps from lumber yards and construction sites she creates sculptures that reproduce the details of the majestic trees found in her Chicago garden.
