Window to the World, Parent Company of WTTW11|98.7WFMT, Names Jill Britton SVP & Chief Development Officer

Window To The World Communications, Inc. (WWCI), parent company of WTTW and 98.7WFMT, is pleased to announce the appointment of JILL BRITTON, 46, to the post of Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, effective January 2, 2014.

“Jill has been an invaluable member of the company’s Development Team ever since she arrived here almost eight years ago,” said Daniel Schmidt, President and CEO of WTTW11 and 98.7WFMT.  “We are delighted to acknowledge her leadership, creativity, and dedication, and are looking forward to working with her in this new and important capacity. She has been an essential contributor to the vision and strategy behind the growth opportunities the organization is pursuing,” he added.

Britton joined WTTW11 and 98.7WFMT in 2006 as Director of Development for Individual Giving, advancing to Vice President of Development in 2009, and to Senior Vice President in 2013.  During her tenure, she has advanced development efforts, increased revenue, and built and managed a committed and efficient development team.

Britton said, “I am enthusiastically honored to accept the post of Chief Development Officer at WTTW and WFMT. We are at a pivotal point in our 60-year history for a number of reasons, and I am thrilled to continue my work with WTTW|WFMT in this expanded role. We have a dynamic team of trustees and a dedicated family of donors. I am proud to work with an incredible staff of artists, producers, engineers, hosts and numerous other individuals working to create the content that connects us to the community of more than 4 million monthly viewers and listeners.

Britton has almost 20 years of experience in individual, foundation, and corporate fundraising in the Chicago region with more than a decade working in the arts and culture arena.  Prior to her arrival at WTTW|WFMT, Britton served as Associate Director of Organizational Giving at the Art Institute of Chicago, Manager of Operations and Marketing Communications at the technology firm OverX, Inc., and Associate Director of Advancement Research and Records for the Children’s Memorial Foundation.

Britton’s new responsibilities will include ­­­­­­­leadership of all development efforts, and she will report directly to President and CEO Daniel Schmidt.

Britton and her husband are residents of Chicago.
