WTTW11’s Chicago Tonight to Host Candidate Forums

The nightly news magazine to present seven October forums, underwritten in part by The City Club of Chicago,
featuring candidates for state and federal office prior to the November 2014 general election.

Chicago, IL - October 1, 2014

CHICAGO – October 1, 2014 – WTTW11, the Midwest’s premier public television station, announced today that its flagship nightly newsmagazine Chicago Tonight will present seven (7) live candidate forums in October 2014 featuring the contenders for state and federal offices in advance of the November 4 general election.  These forums will not be conducted in the manner of a traditional debate, there will be no opening or closing remarks or timed answers, and each will be moderated by one host or correspondent from Chicago Tonight.

The schedule is as follows (candidates’ names are in alphabetical order).  Each forum will take place during a live broadcast at 7:00 pm from the Renée Crown Public Media Center, and with the exception of those on October 29 and 30, will be 30 minutes in length – the October 29 and 30 forums will be 60-minute programs.

These candidate forums are underwritten in part by The City Club of Chicago.  The October 29 forum for U.S. Senate and possibly the October 30 gubernatorial forum (pending the participation of Mr. Rauner) will take place before a studio audience of The City Club’s members and guests, and will be live-streamed at wttw.com/chicagotonight.
