WTTW/Chicago PBS, in partnership with the Auditorium Theatre, presents an exclusive event with Ken Burns and his directing and producing partner Lynn Novick to preview and discuss their new 10-part documentary THE VIETNAM WAR in advance of its premiere on WTTW11 and wttw.com in September 2017.

THE VIETNAM WAR: AN EVENING WITH KEN BURNS AND LYNN NOVICK will take place on Thursday, September 7 at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Parkway, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. TICKETS for this exclusive event are available now.

During this special evening, Burns and Novick will discuss the “making of” of the film, show excerpts from the 18-hour masterpiece, and answer questions from the audience. Their landmark work together includes PROHIBITION, THE WAR, BASEBALL, and THE CIVIL WAR, for which The New York Times said cemented Burns’ place as “the most accomplished documentary filmmaker of his generation.”

About the Film
In an immersive narrative, Burns and Novick tell the epic story of the Vietnam War as it has never before been told on film. THE VIETNAM WAR features testimony from nearly 100 witnesses, including many Americans who fought in the war and others who opposed it, as well as Vietnamese combatants and civilians from both the winning and losing sides. Ten years in the making, the series brings the war and the chaotic epoch it encompassed viscerally to life. View clips here.

THE VIETNAM WAR premieres Sunday, September 17 - Thursday, September 21 and Sunday, September 24 - Thursday, September 28 on WTTW11 and wttw.com/watch.
