WTTW News and CHICAGO TONIGHT Launch Election Hub for Voters in advance of the March 2020 Primary Elections

WTTW News and CHICAGO TONIGHT today announced the launch of a comprehensive digital VOTER GUIDE in advance of the March 17, 2020 primary elections. Along with comprehensive digital resources, WTTW will produce and present a series of candidate forums and extensive, daily political coverage and analysis. 

Throughout the election season, Chicago and regional residents can rely on WTTW News and CHICAGO TONIGHT to gather facts, and present trusted information and analysis. WTTW News is committed to creating a forum for fair, balanced and commercial-free discussion from different perspectives. 

“This election will have a significant impact on the city, state, and its residents, and as a leading public media organization in Chicago, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that voters have the information and resources they need to make informed choices,” said Hugo Balta, News Director of WTTW News.

WTTW NEWS DIGITAL VOTER GUIDE

WTTW’s Voter Guide provides voters with an easy-to-navigate and comprehensive library of resources. A user-interactive ward-by-ward map gives voters a snapshot of each ward’s candidates and demographics such as population, ethnicity, and mean household income. Explainers for the key races include U.S. Senate; Congressional districts 1 through 11, 14, and 16; Cook County Circuit Court Clerk; and Cook County State’s Attorney, among others. The site features candidate profiles and recorded video messages from the candidates stating their positions, searchable by race or candidate; a map of Illinois searchable by district; and links to WTTW News’s ongoing political coverage.

WTTW NEWS CANDIDATE FORUMS 
In March, WTTW News will host five forums, all at 7:00 pm, on CHICAGO TONIGHT. The forums will air on WTTW and stream online at wttw.com/news, Facebook and YouTube. In the WTTW News Forum schedule below, candidate names are in alphabetical order, and the forums will vary in length:
