WTTW NEWS and CHICAGO TONIGHT VOTER GUIDE AND CANDIDATE FORUMS FOR 2022 MIDTERM GENERAL ELECTION

U.S. Senate Forum produced in partnership with WBEZ and Chicago Sun-Times

WTTW News and CHICAGO TONIGHT today announced the launch of a comprehensive VOTER GUIDE in advance of the November 8 midterm elections. Along with comprehensive digital resources, WTTW will produce and present three candidate forums and provide extensive, daily political coverage and analysis.

“This midterm election will have a significant impact on the city, state, and its residents, and as a leading public media organization in Chicago, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that voters have the information and resources they need to make informed choices,” said Jay Smith, News Director for WTTW News.

WTTW NEWS is a nonprofit, public media newsroom serving the Chicago region with trusted, independent, ground-up community reporting and an outlet for deeper engagement and discourse on regional issues of concern. WTTW’s Voter Guide provides voters with an easy-to-navigate and comprehensive library of resources for key races including the U.S. Senate and House; Illinois Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State; and Cook County Board President, Clerk, Sheriff, and others. The easy-to-use and searchable guide features profiles and recorded video messages from the candidates stating their positions on the issues; a video that dives into what happens to a Chicago ballot after it is cast; and additional resources and election coverage.

WTTW News will host three forums on CHICAGO TONIGHT. The forums will premiere on WTTW at 7:00 pm CT and will stream live and on-demand on wttw.com, Facebook and YouTube

The October 27 U.S. Senate forum is produced by WTTW News in partnership with WBEZ and the Chicago Sun-Times, and will air on public television and radio stations across Illinois. Chicago Tonight co-anchor Paris Schutz and Chicago Sun-Times chief political reporter Tina Sfondeles will moderate the discussion in WTTW’s Chicago Tonight studio with candidates Tammy Duckworth and Kathy Salvi, and take questions live from community members located at WILL public television in Champaign, Illinois and La Villita Community Church in Chicago’s Little Village community.
