WTTW’s flagship local news series CHICAGO TONIGHT, co-anchored by Brandis Friedman and Paris Schutz, will move to 10:00 pm weeknights beginning January 23, 2023 along with expanded investigative reporting, vivid human interest storytelling, and essential community-driven dialogue across the WTTW News brands – Chicago Tonight (Mondays-Fridays 10:00 pm), Week in Review (Fridays at 7:00 pm), Latino Voices (Saturdays at 6:00 pm), Black Voices (Saturdays at 6:30 pm), wttw.com/news, and Community Conversations.
A nonprofit, public media newsroom serving the Chicago region with trusted, independent, ground-up community reporting and outlets for deeper engagement and discourse on regional issues of consequence and concern, WTTW News recently debuted an enhanced experience for Chicago Tonight viewers with new production design and state-of-the-art technology.
In January, WTTW News will launch comprehensive resources for voters heading into what will be a hotly contested Chicago mayoral election on February 28, 2023. Along with a digital Voter Guide, Chicago Tonight will present candidate forums for fair and balanced discussion across the field of views.
“There is a need for high-quality local news that takes people in our region deeper into the stories behind the headlines of the day,” said Jay Smith, Executive Producer of Chicago Tonight and News Director for WTTW News. “Our goal is for them to feel they can’t end the day without having read our daily newsletter, visited our website throughout the day, and watched Chicago Tonight at 10 pm.”
