In partnership with the Union League Club Authors Group, WTTW|WFMT invites its members to a special luncheon featuring Emmy Award-winning producer Rebecca Eaton, the creator of the acclaimed and beloved PBS series, Masterpiece. For a quarter of a century, Eaton has been at the helm of one of the most successful franchises in television history. She will discuss her new book, Making Masterpiece: 25 Years Behind the Scenes at Masterpiece Theatre and Mystery! on PBS.

With a childhood steeped in theater, an affinity for nineteenth century novels and culture, and an “accidental apprenticeship” with the BBC, Eaton was practically born to lead the Masterpiece and Mystery! franchises. In her book, Eaton includes interviews with the writers, producers, and directors who helped create Masterpiece hits including Downton Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs, and Prime Suspect. Eaton also shares personal anecdotes of her career and recounts stories about the acclaimed actors who have appeared as Masterpiece’s beloved characters, including Alistair Cooke, Dame Maggie Smith, Diana Rigg, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Daniel Radcliffe.

The cost of a reservation at the event is $50 and includes lunch and the presentation. Books will be available for purchase. Valet and self-parking are available. Business attire is required.

Registration for this event is now closed.
