Free Screening and Discussion – ’63 BOYCOTT
WTTW, in partnership with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, presents a screening and discussion of ’63 Boycott, a production of Chicago-based Kartemquin Films. In 1963, 250,000 students boycotted the Chicago Public Schools to protest racial segregation. This documentary connects the forgotten story of one of the largest Northern civil rights demonstrations to contemporary issues around race, education, and youth activism. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the film's director, Kartemquin Films founder Gordon Quinn, and others.
This is a free event; please RSVP here.
