Don’t miss this community conversation delving into the themes of the thought-provoking documentary American Creed: in a fractured nation, what ideals do we share in common? To find out, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David M. Kennedy teams up with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to investigate the idea of a unifying American creed. Their inquiry frames the stories of activists - including Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon and others - who are striving to realize his or her own vision of America’s promise across a deep divide.

At this event, a follow-up to the film screening the previous week,  Dr. Caroline Kisiel of DePaul University asks attendees to explore who gets to be counted as “American” and why, and ways we can make a difference to our immediate community.
