Join award-winning filmmakers Lynn Novick and Sarah Botstein - whose film credits with Ken Burns include The Vietnam War, Prohibition, The War, and Jazz - for a preview and discussion of their upcoming docuseries College Behind Bars, premiering this November on WTTW.

College Behind Bars explores the transformative power of education through the eyes of incarcerated men and women trying to earn college degrees and turn their lives around in one of the most rigorous and effective prison education programs in the United States – the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI).  College Behind Bars is executive produced by Ken Burns.

After the screening, Lynn Novick and formerly incarcerated BPI alums will serve on a panel discussing the film and the issue of education in prisons.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
