Join us at Kennedy-King College for a screening and discussion of the new WTTW initiative FIRSTHAND: Gun Violence.

When the news media covers Chicago's gun violence, they often look to the mayor and the police chief for solutions. But this new WTTW Digital series shows what the citizens of this city are doing right now to fight for peace in their own communities. Come for a behind-the-scenes look at this new 15-episode digital series, and meet the people who are working on the front lines of violence prevention in Englewood and Auburn Gresham.

Following the screening, producer and director Dan Protess will talk with the film's subjects.

WTTW is proud to partner with The Heartland Alliance, the coordinating agency and employer of record for READI Chicago, and Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P), convened by Metropolitan Family Services.

FIRSTHAND: Gun Violence is presented, in part, by The Grainger Foundation, Allstate Insurance Company, The Chicago Community Trust, The Joseph & Bessie Feinberg Foundation, and the Marc and Jeanne Malnati Family Foundation. Major support is also provided by Ann and Rich Carr, Lew Collens, Denny and Sandy Cummings, Jim and Kay Mabie, Sonia T. Marschak, and Rande and Cary McMillan. All supporters listed are as of October 21, 2019.

Please RSVP below. There will be no physical tickets to this event. Your name and number of seats reserved will be on a door list when you arrive. * fields are required.
