Directions

On Sunday, February 16, join WTTW to explore five restaurants on a remarkably diverse half-mile stretch of Lawrence Avenue, in the spirit of No Passport Required -- a PBS series hosted by Chef Marcus Samuelsson who shares food and traditions with various immigrant communities centered in different American cities.

At each of the five restaurants, you’ll try a few representative dishes while also learning about the cuisine. You’ll get to meet some of the restaurant chefs/owners, as well as Check, Please! host Alpana Singh and WTTW News/Chicago Tonight Correspondent (and foodie) Brandis Friedman. You can learn more about the five restaurants in our in-depth profiles of them and their owners.

Note: We cannot accommodate special requests for vegan, vegetarian, or food allergies, but there will be some vegetarian options on the tour.

Tickets are $50 for WTTW members. WTTW members should use promo code NOPASS to receive $10 off the ticket price of $60. This event includes walking a distance of roughly a half-mile. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for walking. Each tour will last approximately 3.5 hours.

Please note that there are no physical tickets. Your online confirmation will grant you entrance to the event, and we will have your name and number of reservations at the door on the afternoon of the event.
