WTTW believes in the power of news to engage communities in dialogue around the most important social and cultural issues of our time. Our Community Conversations brings audiences together to experience to spotlight societal and culturally relevant topics that can promote healthy conversations.

WTTW News invites you to Chicago Tonight Black Voices: A WTTW News Community Conversation. Brandis Friedman, Chicago Tonight co-anchor and host of Black Voices, will moderate the online conversation with community and thought leaders as they discuss former Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin’s trial. The panel will feature community activist Ja’Mal Green, Alycia Kamil (GoodKids MadCity) and Richard Wooten (Gathering Point Community Council and retired Chicago Police Officer). This conversation will focus on various aspects of the trial including the role of race and policing in Chicago’s Black Community.
