WTTW News invites you to Latino Voices: A WTTW News Community Conversation, a virtual event on Monday, October 25 at 8:00 pm. The Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos), is a Mexican holiday in which families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink, and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion, and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year from October 31- November 2.

Chicago Tonight on-air reporter Joanna Hernandez will moderate this live virtual conversation with Cesareo Moreno, chief curator at the National Museum of Mexican Art; Pilsen resident Isabel Hernandez; Esperanza Salgado, owner, Brewja Co Gallery; Carina Yepez and Norma Rios-Sierra from Comfort Station, an interdisciplinary arts space in Logan Square; and Laura Gonzalez, resident Bruja and professional Tarotologist. The panel will focus on the significance of these celebrations to the Latinx community.

Support for CHICAGO TONIGHT: LATINO VOICES is provided by Allstate, The Chicago Community Trust, and CIBC. Additional support is provided by The Abe and Ida Cooper Foundation, The Field Foundation of Illinois, Lloyd A. Fry Foundation, Judy and John McCarter.
