LATINO VOICES: A WTTW News Community Conversation
Join WTTW’s Chicago Tonight for a virtual event, LATINO VOICES: A WTTW News Community Conversation, on Monday, November 20 at 12:00 pm.
On Friday, November 3, WTTW will premiere CHICAGO STORIES: THE OUTRAGE OF DANNY SOTOMAYOR. This new documentary profiles the fiery openly gay AIDS activist, political cartoonist, and organizer who used civil disobedience to wage war on city officials who marginalized the LGBTQ community and turned a blind eye to the AIDS crisis – all while fighting a losing battle with the disease himself.
WTTW News on-air reporter and Latino Voices host Joanna Hernandez will moderate a live virtual conversation that will focus on the impact of Danny’s life and efforts to effect positive change. Hernandez will be joined by panelists Alicia T. Vega, President of Alicia T. Vega Consulting; David Ernesto Munar, President & CEO of Howard Brown Health; and Julio Rodriguez, Co-founder & President of ALMA Chicago.
Support for CHICAGO TONIGHT: LATINO VOICES is provided by Allstate and Searle Funds at The Chicago Community Trust. Additional support is provided by Lloyd A. Fry Foundation and Julian Grace Foundation.
