My own very close encounter with a praying mantis. In some cultures the praying mantis is seen as a spiritual messenger. The two hours I spent with this gigantic insect may or may not have been a spiritual experience, but it was profound in ways I won't soon forget. This remarkable creature reminded me to slow down and spend time quietly observing the wonders around me.
