Sister Stephanie Baliga gave up her Olympic dreams to become a nun. Today she lives and works at the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels on Chicago’s west side, working every day to provide support for people in the Mission’s west side neighborhood. And Sister Stephanie is still running. She leads a Chicago Marathon team every year to raise money to support the mission’s work.
Many people know Our Lady of the Angels for its tragic history. In 1958 a horrific fire tore through the school, killing 92 students and 3 nuns.
