The Costumes of 'Mercy Street'

Like any good period drama, Mercy Street has wonderful costumes. As costume desinger Amy Andrews Harrell said in an interview, "These costumes had to be very special. I am a PBS viewer, and I know what I expect when I turn on my PBS costume dramas. And that is what I wanted to deliver." 

And deliver she did. From silk ball gowns to surgeon's outfits, from work-worn rags to sensible cotton dresses, the clothes in season 2 of Mercy Street are stunning. Like the rest of the show, they also showcase an impressive attention to historical detail.
