The Chicagoland-based Ferrara Candy Company has announced that it will move its headquarters from suburban Oakbrook Terrace to the Old Post Office in downtown Chicago, making it the second announced tenant (after Walgreen's) to join the redeveloped space. Fourteen years ago, Chicago Tonight toured the factory of the company, then called Ferrara Pan, to see how Lemonheads, Atomic Fireballs, and Boston Baked Beans were made. (Ferrara Candy now also makes Butterfingers, Sweet Tarts, Laffy Taffy, and many more candies – learn about more Chicago candy companies here.) Watch the segment here, and get a glimpse of a place where so much sugar is used that the air supposedly tastes sweet.
