The United States Postal Service's Sesame Street stampsImage: United States Postal ServiceIn honor of Sesame Street's 50th anniversary, the United States Postal Service is issuing sixteen stamps with some of the most beloved characters from the show. You'll soon be able to use a stamp with Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Rosita, The Count, Oscar the Grouch, Abby Cadabby, Herry Monster, Julia, Guy Smiley, Snuffleupagus, Elmo, Telly, Grover, or Zoe and brighten the day of whoever receives your post!

The stamps are only one small part of a yearlong celebration of Sesame Street's anniversary: almost 4,500 episodes are being added to the American Archive of Public Broadcasting, and there will be a prime-time special, a social media campaign sharing memories, and a tour that includes a stop in Chicago, among other exciting things.
