A Sneak Peek at a New Season of 'Sanditon'

Daniel Hautzinger
Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Rosie Graham, and Tom Weston-Jones
Joining the cast are Ben Lloyd-Hughes as the mysterious Alexander Colbourne, Rosie Graham as Charlotte's sister Alison, and Tom Weston-Jones as the war hero Colonel Francis Lennox

If you haven't heard, Sanditon is returning for another two seasons, and we have finally gotten a glimpse at what lies ahead for Charlotte Heywood and her friends and rivals in the seaside resort town. New romances, characters, intrigue, and developments await!

Having suffered a heartbreaking end to her relationship with Sidney, Charlotte returns to Sanditon and meets two new fascinating prospects: the history-shadowed Sanditon denizen Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes) and the confident Colonel Francis Lennox (Tom Weston-Jones). Accompanying her this time is her sister, Alison (Rosie Graham), who quickly falls into the orbit of Captain William Carter (Maxim Ays).

Meanwhile, Georgiana enjoys her own trysts in the wake of her disappointment with Otis, and Tom continues to try to make Sanditon a successful resort, despite the difficulties of the scheming Denhams: Lady Denham and her niece and nephew Esther and Edward.

As the arrival of a Captain and Colonel might have made you suspect, the army has set up a new base in Sanditon. Alongside Lennox and Carter is the rough-hewn Captain Declan Fraser (Frank Blake). Another new arrival is the overblown Romantic artist Charles Lockhart (Alexander Vlahos), there to paint portraits of Sanditon's wealthy residents and visitors.

There's plenty to look forward to, but in the meantime you can catch up on the first season with our recaps, while WTTW Passport members can stream all the episodes.
