A new extended trailer has just dropped for the eagerly anticipated Downton Abbey movie sequel, A New Era, and as the British say, we’re buzzing! (And also chuffed.)

The story has jumped forward in time to 1929, and the Dowager Countess (the irrepressible Dame Maggie Smith) reveals to her family that she has somehow inherited a lavish villa in the south of France. From whom, and why? And how long will it take the Crawleys to pack?

Concurrently, a film company arrives to make a “moving picture” at Downton Abbey, and apparently Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) is fully on board, even if Carson (Jim Carter) is not. What could possibly go wrong?

In other news, there is a wedding.

We can’t wait for the premiere on May 20—can you?

Watch the trailer now.
