As Dwight becomes increasingly well-known for his expertise in mental illness, George descends further in his condition and is mistreated by his uncle. Ross and Ned engage in heroics at a mine, while Demelza hatches a plan to benefit the villagers.

Demelza believes she, Ross, and their friends are being followed while Ross tries to help clear Ned's name and Dwight testifies on behalf of an assassin. George and Cary move towards a business deal with Hanson, but Elizabeth continues to haunt George. 

Poldark is back for its final season! New characters are introduced as old stalwarts forge on, with Ross again becoming embroiled in intrigue, this time relating to West Indian rivalries. George is seeing ghosts, Demelza makes an enemy, and Geoffrey Charles looks to the future.

As the fourth season of Poldark comes to a close, Ross and Demelza try to confront their differences while a baby offers tentative hope for Elizabeth and George. Drake's life may finally be moving in a happy direction, if George doesn't ruin it first. 

Ross is spurred on by the provocations of Adderley into a rash decision that gets him in deep trouble – and George is eager to exploit it. But George has his own difficulties, as he suspects ill of Elizabeth. Both marriages are brought to a crisis.

While Ross and Elizabeth reconcile and Elizabeth realizes she is once again pregnant, George is intent on ruining Ross by causing the bank holding his money to fail. Demelza tries to prevent the plan, and Ross attempts to mitigate the damage.

Ross advocates for liberal policies in London, where Caroline is living large in order to overcome her grief. Drake takes a concrete step to move on from Morwenna, but a sudden violent turn of events upends everything.

Ross is still harping on Demelza's fling with Armitage, despite his own indiscretions, but soon has a larger crisis to deal with at the mine. Dwight is hiding something from the blissful Caroline, and the new parents are soon faced with tragedy.  

George hatches a plan to get back at Ross for taking his Parliamentary seat, while Caroline and Dwight delight in a new arrival – though Dwight is beginning to be apprehensive. Demelza deals with a crisis at the mine and a lovelorn Drake.

The powers that be are searching for someone to run against George for Parliament, but Armitage seems too sickly. What other dashing man might they choose? Demelza and Caroline help along that decision, while Sam gets drawn into a wrestling match.
