Sanditon

Meet some of the new characters who will appear in a second season of Sanditon and get a glimpse of what lies ahead for Charlotte, Tom, Georgiana, and the Denhams as the army sets up a base in the resort town.

Masterpiece has renewed Sanditon for seasons 2 and 3! The first season of the adaptation of Jane Austen's unfinished novel aired in 2019 and ended in suspense, as Charlotte Heywood left Sanditon after a doomed romance.

In the finale of Sanditon, everything nears a happy ending as the midsummer ball approaches and Tom's plans for the town begin to bear fruit. Charlotte and Sidney try to figure out where they stand in their relationship, as do Esther and Lord Babington. 

Sidney finds himself confused in what he wants by the return of an old acquaintance as Sanditon's regatta takes place. An unexpected turn of events drastically alters the relationships between Esther, Edward, and Clara. 

Sidney and Charlotte are once again thrown together as they both try to rescue Georgiana after her disappearance. The experience leads Sidney to re-evaluate his approach to life. Meanwhile, Edward and Clara vie for Lady Denham's estate. 

An annual cricket match provides an opportunity for Lady Denham to help on a marriage between her neice Esther and Lord Babington and also an ideal distraction for Georgiana. As the gentry play against the workers, the workers grumble about missed payments. 

Charlotte finds herself an awkward third wheel when Georgiana's lover comes to visit her in Sanditon. Once again, Charlotte reassesses her view of Sidney. Meanwhile, Clara and Esther come to a bit of an understanding over the cruelty of men. 

Clara proves her ability during a construction accident and beings to repair relations with Sidney, while a medical demonstration is used for advantage in the struggle between Esther and Clara over Lady Denham's will.

The eccentrics of Sanditon begin to clash, especially at a luncheon Lady Denham throws in honor of the heiress Miss Lambe. Charlotte and Miss Lambe's strong-willed opinions put them in conflict with Lady Denham, while Sidney rebuffs an apology from Charlotte. 

The young, eager-for-experience Charlotte Heywood finds herself amongst a cast of odd characters when she is taken to the wannabe seaside resort town of Sanditon, and is quickly drawn into their ambitions, intrigues, and rivalries.
