“Passages of Scenery”Visitors strolled past several different themed areas, including formal paths, ponds, and even a meadow where pedigreed sheep grazed. Civilizing EffectIt was hoped that the park would have a civilizing effect on the masses,encouraging them to dress up for a stroll in the park.
