Join WFMT, WTTW, and Lyric Opera of Chicago for Roll Call: Policing in Chicago's Black Community, Then and Now. This virtual conversation will focus on the evolving relationship between the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and Chicago's Black community. Inspired by the Lyric Opera of Chicago premiere of the opera Blue and WTTW’s FIRSTHAND: Gun Violence digital series, the discussion will include Howard Saffold, retired CPD officer and founding member of the African American Police League and Sergeant Jermaine Harris of the CPD's Community Policing Division, who contributed one of five expert talks that provided context for FIRSTHAND: Gun Violence. The discussion will be moderated by Chicago Tribune reporter and the Field Foundation’s Lolly Bowean

This event is free but RSVP (below) is required.

Click here on Tuesday, December 8 at 6 pm to join the online conversation.
