Join WTTW News and Chicago Tonight for VOICES: A WTTW News Community Conversation, a virtual event on Monday, April 29 at 12:00 pm.

This special VOICES Conversation is part of WTTW News and Chicago Tonight’s A Safer City initiative, which takes a deep dive into neighborhood crime, violence, and public safety as residents, policymakers, and community groups work to address this pervasive issue.

Chicago Tonight reporter and Latino Voices host Joanna Hernandez will moderate a live virtual conversation that will focus on the impact of systemic violence on everyday life, and the steps that public safety officials, the police, and residents are taking to tackle the problem. Panelists will include Quiwana Bell, Assistant Secretary of Firearm Violence Prevention at the State of Illinois; Lisa Daniels, Founder of the Darren B. Easterling Center for Restorative Practices; and Dr. Kathryn Bocanegra, Assistant Professor at UIC Jane Addams College of Social Work.

This event is free, but RSVP below is required.
