Smart TV

Many smart TVs are capable of using the PBS app with only an internet connection. If you have a Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, or Android TV, you can simple visit your device's app store and search "PBS" to add the app to your TV.

You may also be able to use your TV's browser to navigate to video.wttw.com or other areas of our website, but it is not optimized for most smart TVs, so we are unable to guarantee video playback on your device.

For the best streaming experience on televisions that aren't able to access a PBS app, we recommend using our apps on Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, and Chromecast. You can also view a full list of devices we support.

Chromecast

Chromecast allows you to stream PBS and WTTW content directly from your computer, iOS, or Android device to your TV.

If you already have a Chromecast device plugged in to your television, use the instructions below to Cast from the PBS app or WTTW website.

From the PBS App

Simply open the PBS app on your phone. On any screen of the app, you should see the Chromecast icon in the upper right corner (pictured below) next to the search icon. Simply tap the icon, choose the device to Cast to, and play your video.

From the WTTW Website

If using the website instead of the PBS app, navigate to the video you'd like to watch on WTTW.com or video.wttw.com from your computer or mobile device.

In the lower right corner of any video on WTTW.com you should see a similar Chromecast icon to the one pictured in the screenshot above. Simply tap that icon and choose the device to which you'd like to Cast the video.
