The full cast for the recently announced adaptation of the late Hilary Mantel's The Mirror and the Light, the final novel in her lauded Thomas Cromwell trilogy, has been revealed. In addition to those actors we already knew were returning (Mark Rylance as Cromwell, Damian Lewis as King Henry VIII, Jonathan Pryce as Cardinal Wolsey), there will be some new faces as well, courtesy of some of the most acclaimed British actors today.

Harriet Walter, who is a veteran of the stage and has also appeared on the small screen in Call the Midwife, Killing Eve, and Succession, will play Lady Margaret Pole, one of Henry's rivals to the throne. Timothy Spall, of everything from the Harry Potter films to Spencer, will take on the Duke of Norfolk, an antagonist to Cromwell and uncle to two of Henry's wives. Alex Jennings, of Unforgotten and The Crown and other shows and films, is Stephen Gardiner, another opponent of Cromwell who is close to the king.

It's a large cast with too many people to list, but WTTW fans may also recognize Agnes O'Casey from Ridley Road as Henry's niece Lady Margaret Douglas. Atlantic Crossing's Lucy Russell is the courtier Lady Anne Shelton, and Flesh and Blood's Lydia Leonard is the courtier and sister-in-law of Anne Boleyn Lady Jane Rochford.

Of course there are other faces you might recall from minor parts in other PBS shows, given how often British actors appear in various series. You'll have to look forward to watching the new adaptation to see who else looks familiar!
