WTTW, the Midwest’s premier public media organization, is pleased to announce that BRANDIS GRIFFITH FRIEDMAN has been named a correspondent for its award-winning nightly newsmagazine Chicago Tonight, now in its 30th year on the air. Ms. Friedman will make her debut on Monday, October 21. She comes to WTTW directly from a two-year stint as a freelance anchor and reporter for WBBM Newsradio in Chicago.
“We are very pleased to welcome Brandis to WTTW, and to our editorial team,” said Mary Field, Executive Producer of Chicago Tonight. “She is an experienced journalist who is interested in serious reporting and we are looking forward to her bringing new, original stories to Chicago Tonight on air and online. We are delighted that she is joining our staff.”

AT WBBM Newsradio, Ms. Friedman anchored radio broadcasts, produced, wrote and voiced numerous news stories, and conducted interviews and researched multiple news reports for the daily newscasts. Prior to that, she was a Special Projects Producer, Fill-In Reporter, and Co-Host for the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C.; served as Deputy Communications Director for the House Committee on Science and Technology; and served as a Reporter for the NBC affiliates in Little Rock, AR and Wichita Falls, KS.
Ms. Friedman is a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and a magna cum laude graduate of Dillard University in New Orleans and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York. She is the recipient of three regional Emmy Awards, and currently resides in Chicago with her husband and son.
