Newt Minow Meets with Members of the WTTW Community Advisory Board

Trustee Newt Minow, former Chairman of the FCC (as well as PBS and WTTW) hosted a 90-minute meeting at Sidley and Austin with WTTW’s Community Advisory Board, which was interested in his reflections on his famous “vast wasteland” speech, made to the National Association of Broadcasters in 1961. Newt also spoke about the genesis of public broadcasting and PBS, and provided insights into its current role in an era of mega-communications.
