Chicago Stories: Candy Capital premieres on Friday, October 27 at 8:00 pm on WTTW and streaming on the PBS app and wttw.com/chicagostories.

Ahead of the premiere of Chicago Stories: Candy Capital and Halloween, we’ve got a competition going: What is Chicago’s favorite candy? The candy featured in this competition all has a Chicago connection: It was either born here, made here, or is linked with famous Chicago institutions. Below are the results from Round 1. The competition between Laffy Taffy and Brach’s Candy Corn was close! Frango Mints and Snickers appear to be the runaway favorites in their division.

Laffy Taffy: 51%
Brach’s Candy Corn: 49%

Baby Ruth: 36%
Butterfinger: 64%

Milky Way: 29%
Snickers: 71%

Frango Mints: 70%
Tootsie Rolls: 30%

Final Round: Voting will begin on Friday, October 27, and will end on Sunday, October 29 at 11:59 pm. We'll announce the winner on Monday, October 30 – just in time for Halloween!
