The majority of the concerts are taped before an intimate studio audience at WTTW’s Grainger Studio in Chicago, and the production also hits the road to Red Rocks, Colorado; Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center, NY; the Fleet Center in Boston and the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, among other venues. Meet Fred the housecat. When his family leaves for the day, he doesn’t just sit inside watching the outside world go by. He becomes Nature Cat, backyard explorer extraordinaire! Each episode in this hilarious new PBS Kids series follows Nature Cat and his pals – Squeaks the mouse, Hal the dog, Ronald, another housecat and Daisy, a super-cute pet rabbit – as they embark on action-packed adventures, perilous missions, nature investigations, “a-ha” discovery moments and loads of humor including live-action interstitials featuring real kids and their outdoor discoveries. The series intends to help children discover nature and inspire them to get outdoors to develop connections with the natural world. Nature Cat premieres in the PBS Kids schedule in Fall, 2015.
