Every year, the Richard H. Driehaus Prize " is awarded to a living architect whose work embodies the highest ideals of traditional and classical architecture in contemporary society, and creates a positive cultural, environmental, and artistic impact." Since 2011, WTTW and host Geoffrey Baer have explored the life and work of the award winners in a half-hour documentary and accompanying website. This year, Architect Robert Adam: A Place at the Table, which spotlights the 2017 winner, premieres Thursday, March 23 at 8:00 pm, with several repeat broadcasts. You can also watch it online, on the companion website.
On that website, you can also: explore Adam's career, from his contrarian school days to his ascendance as one of Britain's premier traditional architects; view photos of his some of his most significant buildings; relive Geoffrey Baer's experience making the show in an image-rich travel diary; watch web-exclusive interviews; and more.
